This is a complex 10 division that results in an elaborate series of pentagons, triangles, and diamonds being created with marking threads. Layers of orange, pink, cream, and grey are alternated and interwoven using a kousa kagari technique, creating a bold pattern reminiscent of stained glass. This temari is an all-over design - the surface of the ball (mari) is completely covered by embroidery.
